SRC's Fermentation Technologies Branch provides contract research in bioprocess technologies.

Our 4300 square foot BL2-LS containment facility is self-contained.
Its controlled environment facilitates simultaneous culturing of a wide range of native and recombinant microorganisms.
HEPA filtered air prevents the escape of live microorganisms.
We chemically treat and heat sterilize liquid wastes.
RO water, pure steam, process air, nitrogen and oxygen flow throughout the facility, allowing for a variety of fermentation processes.
We have the latest equipment to support and analyse fermentations in progress.
Down-stream processing equipment harvests and/or disrupts cells and purifies products.
Our steam sterilizable, highly instrumented fermenters range to a capacity of 300 litres.
Computer-controlled units feature data acquisition and advanced control capabilities while allowing for oxygen enrichment during fermentation processes.
The on-line mass spectrometer analyses off-gases.
All processing units are cleaned and sterilized on location.
